An Angel's Plight

I question,
I question these reasons,
I question you,
What, pray tell, were these reasons?
That changed with the changing of seasons?
What had you set us up in the sky?
Have us trapped in a web like butterflies?
I question,
I question you again,
What led to this disharmony, this situation?
What led us to dwell within ourselves, within our waking?
If we were the makers,
We would try again,
We would try again,
I question,
I question this,
Time and time again,
There is no flower that smells this plain,
There is no healer that can cure this pain,
Those pincers dug deep and tore out that which we mend,
A compassion we decide to abhor,
That which took gaily moons and bloody sacrifices to restore,
Compassion which was ripped, and by your hands it tore,
I question you again,
And again,
Was this worth the teary plights of all us angels?
Was this worth the filthy minds of those heartbroken men?
All the enigmatic maybes that you have left behind,
I question your beginning and question this unwinding maze,
This holy path with no alternately adorned exits,
On this skyward road over and over and overn,
When was it when I last saw you dear mighty visionary in the sky?
When was it that that passion we shared, dwindled and said goodbye?
We were replaced she said,
By the heavens and the sky,
There is no historic truth embedded within our pleading eyes,
For he was a mistake,
We were replaced he said,
For she was a mistake,
And she did shed a tear, and she did tear us,
We were replaced she said,
The disharmony was perfect,
Bringing the earth and sky, the limelight with the sighs,
The sweet, fizzing sparks in our blood, with the curling wool, the sticky wool, in our hearts,
We were replaced he said,
What more answers do you need?
We were replaced we said,
We were replaced...
