A Riddler in a Cage

I remembered today,
This cocoon, this shell has broken,
Pretensions have been shed and old ways have been recalled,
Old mannerisms and dramatics sear me once more,
I have become my old self again,
Hello…
I recalled a memory embedded today,
The seas parted as I swore upon her life,
Bright eyes can't see within seashells the short tales once told,
And chapped lips can't utter the words they once sought,
I have become my old self again,
Good day...
There was a time intertwined,
With life today,
When the minutes were like a withering daisy,
Swaying in a gust of cold breath,
There was a moment were it to be that, all stood still,
And in there I found my old self again,
Who are you...
There was a loud gnashing,
A loud lashing out of fiery fumes and smokey rage,
When tails were whipped and horns pierced bodily flesh,
And in there I saw my life so stripped,
And in there I felt a recognition,
My life...
Never a time again,
When this beast will eternally be,
In a box in a cage on a stage in a tree,
Where the play will play and the actors badly act,
And in there I saw my actions again,
Why was I led to be caged...
Never a time again,
Will this beast be held,
This monster of tooth and claw will your minds reap,
There is nothing more pleasant than to see you weep,
In saying that,
I say I saw myself again,
And it hurts,
I beseech,
I hunger,
What am I?
By the pleasure,
By the pleasure of shattered rainbows and eclipsed sunsets,
What within this sky of lost nights am I?
